MY REARRANGE SERIES ORIGINALLY WAS AN ATTEMPT AT HELPING MYSELF LET GO OF WHO I USED TO BE. AT FIRST ALL I KNEW WAS THAT I FELT LIKE CUTTING UP OLD DRAWINGS & CUTTING UP THINGS THAT HELD EMOTIONAL MEMORIES.

MY WORK on this series HAS TAUGHT ME MORE THAN I EVER REALIZED IT WOULD. MY PAINTINGS ARE ABLE TO REVEAL TO ME FRAGMENTS OF THE STEPS THAT I'VE TAKEN TO GET WHERE I AM TODAY. by REARRANGING THE PAST, i am able to SHOWS Myself THAT THERE IS A WAY TO FIND HARMONY & BEAUTY WITHIN CHAOS.

Most of the work in this series requires patience. It starts out by embedding fragments of paper into the base layers, then I layer paint and inks over the top of them, sealing them with a clear top coat. these paintings have evolved over the past few years to highlight things that are important in how i would define myself. Fragments of my personal identity that become more of puzzle PIECES to a viewer. sometimes as i’m making them they help me to figure out WHERE I'M GOING AND WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO ME. MY PAINTINGS ARE A RECORD OF THE THINGS I'VE WANTED THE MOST, THINGS I'VE HELD CLOSE, & THINGS THAT I'VE WANTED TO GET RID OF THE MOST.

MOST IMPORTANTLY THIS SERIES IS ABOUT realizing that life is always changing. It is about letting go. being the one to define yourself but being authentic and vulnerable. FRESH STARTS & NEW DAYS. SUNRISES & SUNSETS. TRANSFORMATION & GROWTH.
